Description

 

Master account users can transfer a FortiCloud and FortiCare account from one unit to another.
Users can transfer up to three accounts within a twelve-month time period.

Also once FortiCloud account is transfer if you have FortiGate transfer registered will have to transfer the FortiGate account as well.


NOTE.
1) Transfer up to three accounts in a twelve-month time period. If more transfers are required within the twelve-month time period, contact 'Technical Support' to request the transfer.
2) Transfer an account from System -> FortiGuard.

This article describes how to transfer a FortiCloud account from FortiGate GUI. And also transferring FortiGate cloud once transfer a FortiCloud account is done.


Scope

 

For version 6.4, 7.0 and 7.2. FortiGate, Forticloud, and FortiGate Cloud.

Solution

 

Requirements.

Transfer of FortiCloud account:

 

- Have access to the FortiGate, to FortiCloud and FortiCare accounts.
- Be a master account user.

To verify, the master account user, go to support.fortinet.com, select the 'User' icon and then select 'Account Profile'.



 
To transfer an account from GUI.

1) Go to Dashboard -> Status. In the Status dashboard, hover over the FortiCare 'Support' link, and select 'Transfer FortiGate to Another Account'.
 
 
 
 
FortiGate transfers the account.
 

 
 
Once the transfer is complete, FortiGate displays the new the FortiCloud account.

Transfer of FortiGate cloud account after transferring FortiCloud account:

 

After doing the above steps, the FortiGate Cloud is still with the old account making the scenario:

FortiGate is registered to email X but the FortiGate cloud account is with email Y.

 

To Transfer the FortiGate Cloud account from one account to another:

- Go to Dashboard -> Status.

- In the FortiGate Cloud widget, Select on the Activated. And select logout and logout of the account.

It will only affect the FortiGate Cloud account, not the FortClloud which is linked to licenses.

- After return to Dashboard -> Status, In the FortiGate Cloud widget select activate.

- Activate the new account credentials and select OK.

Now both FortiCloud and FortiGate Cloud accounts are transferred.

This feature does not transfer an account from one unit to another, it transfers a unit from one account to another

 

The articles in docs.fortinet.com have been updated with this correction, can we have this corrected as well
