Description
This article describes how to change image on FortiAP-U models from Meru to Fortinet while the FortiAPis online on FortiWLC.

Scope
For FortiAP-U models only.

Solution
1) Take CLIaccess to the FortiWLC.
2) Connect into the FortiAP using the below commands:
# Sh ap

AP ID AP Name             MAC Address        Uptime          OperState Availability Path MTU Runtime                 Connectivity IP Address      AP Model   Ap gr Feature Operating Mode

7     AP-7                00:0c:e6:xx:xx:xx  13d:22h:19m:32s Enabled   Online       1500     8.5-2build-5            L3           10.33.154.26    FAP-U423EV 0     0       Normal
- connect FortiAP<ap id>
- Enter the below command:
# Conn ap <ap-id>
ap 7> boot imageid 3
ap 7> exit
Example:





3) Once the above is executed the FortiAP will go for a reboot and come up with Fortinet image.

Notes.
To perform the above action the FortiAP has to be online on FortiWlC.
