Description

This article desceribes how to determine why the number of Concurrent Licenses in use is higher than expected.

Scope

Version: 8.x and greater

Solution

1) Identify new devices recently added.

If new devices other than registered hosts have been added recently (IP phones, etc), confirm whether or not they will consume a license when online.  See Concurrent licenses under Licenses section of the Administration Guide for a list.

2)  Confirm host online status is accurate.

A license is used when the host is online.  A list of online registered hosts and IP Phones can be obtained in Host Summary Dashboard widget.

3)  If the online status is incorrect (e.g. host shows online when actually offline) then more licenses will be consumed then expected.  See the applicable KB article for troubleshooting steps
