Description This article describes how to add 8 SSIDs to the FortiAP profile.
Scope FortiAP-231E.
Solution

If there is an issue to add 8 SSIDs to the FortiAP FortiAP-231F profile, getting the following errors message:

'Error: at most 7 vaps can be configured.
object set operator error, -4 discard the setting
Command fail. Return code -4 (reached the maximum number of entries)'.

It is necessary first to check if background scanning and voice enterprise is disabled.

But it is still not possible to add the 8 SSID, check if there is DARRP disabled due to that being considered as background scanning.

To validate that there is DARRP disabled, follow the next commands:

LAB-WIRELESS-TAC-2 # config wireless-controller wtp-profile

LAB-WIRELESS-TAC-2 (wtp-profile) # edit 231F

LAB-WIRELESS-TAC-2 (231F) # config radio-1

LAB-WIRELESS-TAC-2 (radio-1) #show

config radio-1
set band 802.11ax,n,g-only
set channel-bonding 40MHz
set auto-power-level enable
set auto-power-high 11
set auto-power-low 2
set darrp enable <----- This line is the one that matters.

To disable, execute the following command:

set darrp disable

Remember to check for all the radios of the FotiAP and apply the same (in case it is enabled).

It is now possible to add 8 SSIDS to the FortiAP profile.
