Description This article describes the steps that need to be taken if the EMS management console is stuck loading or is unresponsive.
Scope FortiClient EMS 7.0+, 7.2+.
Solution

1) In some cases where the EMS console is very slow or unresponsive, first check the hardware specs of the server to ensure that it meets the minimum system requirements.

The official system requirements article can be found here.

Additionally, check no third-party services or roles are in use on the EMS server.

Additionally, running the EMS server on a Domain Controller is not supported.

2) If the system requirements seem to have been configured correctly but stability issues still occur when using the EMS console, try clearing the console cache and restarting EMS services.

How to clear the EMS console cache?

Type 'services.msc' in the 'run' area (Press the Windows key and R simultaneously to open it) to open up the Services list on Windows. Afterwards, stop EMS services one by one, starting with 'FortiClient Endpoint Management Server Monitor Service':

Next, find the console folder in the path below and rename it:

C:\Users\username\appdata\Local\Fortinet\Console

Start 'FortiClient Endpoint Management Server Monitor Service'. The rest of the services will start automatically.

After the process completes, the EMS console should work as expected.
