Description
This article describes how to send an automatic backup to the FTP server if an administrator changes a config and logs out of the system.

Solution
1) Go to Security Fabric -> Automation and select 'Create new'.
Under 'Trigger' select 'Configuration change' and under 'Action' select 'CLI Script'.

2) Under CLI Script create a name and paste the CLI script for sending the config backup to FTP server and save it.

Go to https://help.fortinet.com/fos50hlp/54/Content/FortiOS/fortigate-best-practices-54/Firmware/Performin...to know more about performing a configuration backup via CLI.

3) If an admin makes a configuration change and logs out of the unit then the CLI script is executed and backup is sent via FTP server.

An IPv4 policy has been created to test. Log out from the GUI.

Backup file is sent to the FTP server as soon as admin logs out.
