Description
This article describes limitations wherein metadata variables are not supported in a device-level SD-WAN configuration and are only supported in the SD-WAN template.
Scope
FortiManager 7.2.x and FortiManager 7.4.x.
Solution
Metadata variables were introduced in FortiManager 7.2. They can be used as variables in scripts, templates, firewall address objects, IP pools, and VIPs, but are not supported at the device level. The interface will display an error mentioning that an invalid IP address / invalid number format was provided even when the variables are legitimate.
