Description This article describes how to troubleshoot the issue where FortiManager cannot add certain FortiGate models.
Scope

The below units are used in the scenarios:

FortiManager v7.2.0, FortiManager v7.2.4 and FortiGate-600F

Solution
  • Always refer to the compatibility between FortiManager and FortiOS: Compatibility with FortiOS After that refer to FortiManager release notes.
  • FortiGate-600F cannot be added to FortiManager v7.2.0, FortiGate-600F can ping and telnet port 541.

Run CLI command: 'diagnose dvm supported-platforms list':

  • FortiGate-600F can be added to FortiManager v7.2.4.

Run CLI command: 'diagnose dvm supported-platforms list':

  • Always refer to the release to check the supported FortiGate model list: FortiGate models inside FortiManager v7.2.0 release notes, do not mention FortiGate-600F inside the supported model list.

For version 7.2.4: FortiGate models:

FortiManager v7.2.4 release notes have mentioned FortiGate-600F inside the supported model list:

FortiGate can reach FortiManager and telnet port 541 but cannot add it to FortiManager. It can be due to the current FortiManager version which does not support the FortiGate models.
