Technical Tip: How to change FortiToken mobile code refresh timer to 30 seconds

Description

This article shows how to change the default code refresh timer from 60 seconds to 30 seconds for FortiToken Mobile only.   

Scope

FortiAuthenticator 4.0

Solution

The following steps can be used to change the timer value:

1) Login to FortiAuthenticator admin GUI page.

2) Go to System -> Administration -> FortiGuard.

3) Expand the 'FortiToken Mobile Provisioning' tab.

4) Select 30 on 'Time step:' and select 'OK' to save the setting as shown below.

This will only be applied to new provisioning FortiToken.  

If it is required to change for an existing FortiToken then it must be removed from the user account and provisioned again.
