Description
Customers are required to register all products and licenses.  Registration assigns ownership and associates the maintenance contract to the appliance.  Once products are registered, license key(s) are generated to be installed in the appliance.

Registration and Key Generation
For instructions to register products and generate keys, refer to the applicable appliance installation guide in the Fortinet Document Library.

License Upgrades
At some point, there may be a need to change the number of concurrent endpoint licenses or the license type (e.g. upgrading from Plus to Pro) in an existing deployment.  For instructions to upgrade licenses on existing appliances, see License Upgrade Guide in the Document Library.

Important:
Review requirements prior to key installation for License Upgrades

For more information regarding Base, Plus and Pro license types, refer to the Licenses section of FortiNAC Models and Specifications.
