Description

This article describes the Dell switches configured to use a directory (such as Active Directory) to enable level CLI access that will fail CLI credential validation.
This will occur whether or not the enable password field is left blank in the Model Configuration.

Scope
Version: 8.x

Solution
Workaround.
Modifications are required in the Control Server to accommodate the new login sequence.  Contact Support for assistance and reference this article.

Note the following.

  • This change affects all switches managed by the appliance that uses the same file governing the CLI command sequence.  If there are some Dell switches not using the directory to enable level access, this change could prevent the appliance from connecting.
  • Changes must be made after each appliance upgrade.
  • Changes must be performed in both Primary and Secondary Control Servers in High Availability configurations.
  • Changes must be performed on all PODs managing these switches.
