Description This article describes how to create email alerts when a blade goes down on a chassis.
Scope FortiGate-6000 and 7000 Chassis.
Solution

Create Automation Stitch to get an alert when a blade goes down:

 

  1. Go to Global -> Security Fabric -> Automation>Action and select 'Create New'.

  1. Create a suitable action based on the desired requirement. The example here shows creating an email alert:

  1. Configure Name, Minimum Interval, From, To, and Subject. Leave the Body to default '%%log%%' and select 'OK'.

  1. Go to Global -> Security Fabric -> Automation -> Trigger and select 'Create New'.

  1. Scroll to the bottom Miscellaneous and select 'FortiOS Event Log'.

  1. Configure a name and in the Event option, select 'Blade not ready to process traffic' and select 'OK'.

  1. Go to Global -> Security Fabric -> Automation -> Stitch and select 'Create New'.

  1. Configure Name, leave FortiGate(s) to 'All FortiGates'. Add the configured Trigger, Action, and select 'OK'.

  1. If the blade goes down on the chassis, an email alert is received:
