Description

 

This article describes how to change the Serial Number on an existing License after RMA.

 

Scope

 

FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer.

 

Solution

 

After RMA, the license can be reused to support the new devices. However, the following error may be encountered:

In that case, visit support.fortinet.com and ensure the Serial Number is updated for the new unit. If it is not updated, the user can manually update the Serial Number via the 'RMA Transfer' button shown below:

The button will guide users back to the page where the license is first registered and a new Serial Number can be updated:

After the update, wait for 24 hours for everything updated to the new RMA devices.
