Description

This article describes how to upgrade FortiNAC servers using the CentOS operating system from v9.x to vF7.x. This is a standard software upgrade procedure and does not change the operating system.  For software compatibility details between CentOS and FortiNAC-OS operating systems, see Infrastructure upgrades under What's new in the Administration Guide.

The process to move from CentOS FortiNAC servers to new servers running FortiNAC-OS is considered a migration. See KB article

Technical Tip: How to Migrate a Standalone CentOS FortiNAC to FortiNAC-OS from version 9.X to FortiN...

Scope FortiNAC, FortiNAC-F.
Solution

This is an upgrade from v9.X.X to FortiNAC-F v7.2.X. This is not considered a migration to FortiNAC-F.
It is recommended to take a VM snapshot before each upgrade

  1. Upgrade the single VM CentOS FortiNAC from v9.2.6 to v9.2.8 GA to meet the upgrade requirements. For v9.4.X it is better to upgrade to v9.4.3 and above.
  • Go to System -> Settings.
  • Expand the Updates folder.
  • Select System from the tree.
  • Go to the System Update Settings section of the screen, and make sure Product Distribution Directory: Version_9_2 to upgrade from v9.2 to the latest v9.2.
  • Select Download.
  • After the software file has been downloaded, select the Install button and Install v9.2.8 GA.
