Fortigate captive Portal blank page.

Hi guys

Im having difficulties with my captive portal within my guest interface.

The Window shows up as expected, however it shows blank white and nothing shows up.

- I was wondering if i'd need to add an exception in my policy to show the default local login page
- if there was a way i could locally test?

- Or find the port or url?

Kind regards

Ant

Hi @Avyner,

You are using an external captive portal? If so, is it in a different network? You might need to exempt traffic to that portal. Please refer to https://community.fortinet.com/t5/FortiGate/Technical-Tip-Captive-Portal-Exempt-list/ta-p/197111

If you're facing issues with the captive portal showing a blank white page on your FortiGate, try the following steps to resolve it:

  1. Restore Default Login Page:

    • Navigate to "System" > "Replacement Messages" in your FortiGate GUI.
    • Click on "Login Page" and then select "Restore to Default."
  2. Adjust Captive Portal Settings:

    • Ensure the following settings are configured correctly:
      • Security Mode: Captive Portal
      • Portal Type: Authentication
      • Authentication Portal: Local
      • Exempt Sources: None
      • Exempt Destinations/Services: None
      • Redirect after Captive Portal: Original Request
  3. Test the Captive Portal:

    • After making these changes, test the captive portal again to check if the issue is resolved.

If the problem persists, consider checking your firewall policies and DNS settings, and also ensure your FortiGate firmware is up to date.

I feel dumb, had some settings on the WFI which stoped the output of this ip range. Appreciate the help.
