Description This article describes how to create L7 IMAP(non-SSL) Virtual Server.
Scope FortiADC v7.0.0 and above, FortiADC Virtual Server’s Custom Application Profile type TCP
Solution
  1. Navigate to Application Resources under the Server Load Balance Tab. Create a new profile for the L7 IMAP TCP type, or clone from an existing L7 TCP Profile type.

  1. In the TCP Application Profile configuration page, insert a name for the Profile. Select the L7 TCP type for the profile and insert the Timeout TCP Session value which the value will be the client-side connections timeout if the FIN packet is not received after idling for the amount of time.

  1. Create a new L7 Virtual Server by selecting the Layer 7 type virtual server.

  1. In the Profile dropdown menu, select the created IMAP TCP profile. Complete the virtual server settings by inserting all the necessary values and selecting the appropriate resource settings. IMAP protocol service port (non-SSL) shall be '143'.

  1. Test the IMAP Virtual Server connections now by connecting a mail client to the IMAP protocol or do a quick telnet test on the Virtual Server IP port 143.
