This article describes how to view information regarding lte-modem RSSI score information if it is not showing in Extender Manager. This is only applicable if FortiGate is a 3G4G model and the information is not limited to RSSI but is included as this document explains it.
FortiManager 7.0 and above, FortiGate-xx-3G4G.
The LTE modem configuration needs to be enabled in FortiGate:
FortiGate-40F-3G4G # config system lte-modem
FortiGate-40F-3G4G (lte-modem) # show full
config system lte-modem
set status enable
.....
end
By default, if the FortiGate 3G4G model has a SIM card installed, the LTE-modem status will be automatically enabled, but if it still does not show in Extender Manager, proceed to unset the configuration or re-enable the status again.
FortiGate-40F-3G4G # config system lte-modem
FortiGate-40F-3G4G (lte-modem) # unset status --> it will set to the default value.
end
Or:
FortiGate-40F-3G4G # config system lte-modem
FortiGate-40F-3G4G (lte-modem) # set status disable --> enable it back.
end
Note: Disabling the LTE modem will cause a network interruption of the FortiGate.
Once the changes on the FortiGate are made, perform a Device Manager retrieval to manually pull the latest status of the configuration and check again on Extender Manager.
