Technical Tip: Creating a Guest Account with Account Duration Longer than 20 days

Description

This article describes how to create a Guest Account in FortiNAC with an account duration longer than 20 days. By default, FortiNAC will not allow the creation of a Guest Account with an account duration longer than 20 days.

Scope

FortiNAC-F v7.2.3 or above, FortiNAC v9.4.4 or above, FortiNAC v9.2.9 or above.

Solution

Go to Users&Host -> Administrator.
Select Profiles at the right corner.
Select 'Add'.
Enter a valid name for the Admin Profile.
Go to the Permission Tab.
Select the Guest/Contractor Accounts row and tick the checkbox under the custom column.

Go to the Manage Guest tab and change the 'Create accounts active for' to 365.

Select 'OK'.
Create a new administrator account by using the new Profile.

Log off from the admin console and log in to FortiNAC by using the newly created admin account.
Go to User&Hosts -> Guest&Contractors.
Select Add and select an account duration longer than 20 days.

Select 'OK'.
