Description This article describes how to edit a firewall policy using the Command Line Interface (CLI) through the Graphical User Interface (GUI).
Scope FortiGate.
Solution

Once logged in, locate the CLI Console option, usually found at the top-right corner as visible in the screenshot below:

It is possible to edit the firewall policy by using CLI with the below-mentioned command:

 

config firewall policy

    edit "<policy ID>"

end

 

Now to edit the firewall policy in CLI accessed in GUI, it is possible to directly select the 'edit in CLI' button as mentioned below:

 

  1. In some firmware, an option to 'edit in CLI'  is visible on the right side. Refer to the below screenshot:

      2. In other versions, 'right-click' on the firewall policy and select the option 'edit in CLI' as referred to below screenshot:
